God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen — Mannheim Steamroller

A bazillion years ago, when I was a teenager, a group called Mannheim Steamroller was hugely popular. Their music was a mix of live instruments and electronics, and as a pianist and keyboardist, I was fascinated by it. Here are their versions of God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen. The first is kind of based on a Baroque style, the second is the rock and roll that was incredibly popular.

On the CD I had of this (the Christmas album came out after I was married), the rock and roll came right after the fancy one. It was awesome on the huge stereo with giant speakers I had at the time…ahhhh, the good ol’ days… 🙂
