Hello Choristers! Welcome to another year at The Madeleine Choir School. If you are new here, this is the blog for the St. Nicholas Choir. However, others are allowed to see it, too. We try to be friendly. 🙂
Now, down to business. I know many of you would really like a recording of O How Amiable. There are several videos of this piece on youtube. This one is at a rather slow tempo, but you can hear all the alto in it. Several of the recordings are made in churches, and sometimes the alto parts get lost in the sound.

The recording of the Kyrie is quite high in pitch–it may too high for some of you with lower voices. You can still listen to it to learn it, however. These recordings are nice, and have the music printed with them for you to follow along. The man’s voice is very clear and, I think, very soothing.
We will continue to work on these pieces for the Investiture Mass on Wednesday. We will also work on the hymns for that day. Info was sent to your parents in the school newsletter email this afternoon. Check the blog often–sometimes I add interesting and/or funny things! 🙂
