Great job today, choristers! I know Mrs Baillie was very pleased, and the St. Nicholas kids wanted to know what was that second song (Shepherd’s Pipe Carol). I haven’t been able to figure out how to post the recordings yet, but some of you mentioned you wanted more Kid Snippets. Since we sang “The Shepherd’s Pipe Carol,” here’s a little shepherd’s play for you. 😊
Merry Christmas, choristers! I hope the mass went well today, and you did your best. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday and enjoy some time off. Thank you for being such a great class and thank you for making my days brighter! I thought you might like something funny–if you don’t know Mr. Bean, you will meet him here. He conducts some street musicians at Christmastime, and check out his awsome conducting style! (I think I’ll try it out on you one day and see if you’re really following me…) 😉
Ever wish you could hear a whole lot of Christmas music in just 3 1/2 minutes? And throw in a Hanukkah song, and an awesome hit from the 90’s? Well, watch this video from a group called “Straight No Chaser.”
I’ll be posting some fun Christmas things the next few days, but you must do your practicing on the serious pieces for Christmas day! 🙂 Work especially on the Agnus Dei.
It’s so true–we’re not ready to hear it, then it’s kind of fun to hear it, then we can’t live without it, then we wish we could hear it. It’s a never-ending cycle of Christmas music!
And a blessed Saturday to you! I thought maybe we could use something light. I saw this a few years ago, but I was reminded of it when Mrs. Malinka posted it. It’s tooooo funny!
Of course, if I had big, awesome tinfoil wings, I’d want to sing like that, too!
Hmmmm…maybe that’s a little TOO much leadership…
Have a great Saturday, choristers! 🙂
…and you better be memorizing your Christmas Carols!
Wait…we’re not singing this one!
Howdee! Happy Sunday to you all.
Here’s something fun! The boys at our church (ages 9-12) put this on yesterday at the church Christmas breakfast. It was great! It’s based on the song, “Once There Was a Snowman.” If you don’t know that, it’s a little kid song–I’ll sing it for you tomorrow. Remember–there’s an extra rehearsal tomorrow…Huzzah!
Since we’re in the Christmas (well, Advent) season, here’s a hilarious but embarrassing ending to the Hallelujah Chorus. (It’s just audio…but it’s horribly fabulous!)
There are many imitations out there, but this is the original. The Silent Monks!
