All People That on Earth Do Dwell — Britten

Hello, Choristers! I cannot believe I haven’t posted for a month. Time to fix that, don’t you think? 🙂

As promised, here is some text for you to work on at home. We are so close to being fully memorized–let’s get it done so we can spend more time on Friday Afternoons!

All people that on earth do dwell,
Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice:
Him serve with fear, His praise forth tell,
Come ye before Him and rejoice.

O enter then His gates with praise,
Approach with joy His courts unto,
Praise, laud and bless His name always,
For it is seemly so to do.

For why? The Lord our God is good:
His mercy is forever sure;
His truth at all times firmly stood,
And shall from age to age endure.

Here is a recording to study. I suggest you start at 3:29 into the recording. You will here about a minute of what comes before this hymn–the choir sings, and then the hymn just starts without introduction. We well need to be prepared for that.
